RICE
HUNGER RELIEF PROGRAM
Rice is a nutritional staple in most countries and is a good source of magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, selenium, iron, folic acid, thiamine and niacin. It is low in fiber and its fat content is primarily omega-6 fatty acids, which are considered pro-inflammatory.
A single dollar, insignificant to some, is enough to feed a family of 4, two servings of rice per day for a period of four days. A donation of $10 has the potential to feed a family of 4 two servings of rice per day, for more than a month. $1.00 = 2.2 pounds of Rice
